1. What is a work-based school?

A work-based school is a school that meets four criteria:

  • Paid work is a part of the curriculum.
  • The employment curriculum is integrated with the academic curriculum.
  • The academic schedule is flexible, to allow student to make employment commitments.
  • All students must have ongoing plans and commitments for employment and further education as a qualification for graduating.
