We are seeking part-time and full-time employment, internships, externships, co-ops, and apprenticeship opportunities for our student participants for the 2008-2009 school year and summer in the following areas (see below).  While we focus on high school students, we have many applicants who are college students, college graduates and experienced young adults.

  • Health Care Professions Team – students find and procure part-time and full-time jobs, job-shadowing experiences, internships, externships, and co-op opportunities with health care companies, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other medical/health organizations. These students are typically on the payroll of the firm. The part-time and full-time jobs, job-shadowing experiences, internships, externships, and co-op opportunities give the students hands-on and first-hand employment experience in the field of their interest.
  • Engineering and Architectural Team – students find and procure part-time and full-time jobs, job-shadowing experiences, internships, externships, and co-op opportunities with architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering and consulting firms. These students are typically on the payroll of the firm. The part-time and full-time jobs, job-shadowing experiences, internships, externships, and co-op opportunities give the students hands-on and first-hand employment experience in the field of their interest.
  • IT Support Team – students find and procure Information Technology part-time and full-time jobs, job-shadowing experiences, internships, externships, and co-op opportunities with IT firms or IT Departments inside larger firms. The IT Team members also gain experience by doing small jobs for non-profits, churches, and small businesses from building computers, troubleshooting software, network servicing, and computer training. All jobs are performed under the watchful eye and guidance of a competent IT professional.
  • Construction Team – students find and procure part-time and full-time jobs, job-shadowing experiences, internships, externships, and co-op opportunities within the construction trade including opportunities in Masonry, Painting, Insulation, Drywall, Carpentry, Concrete, Electrical, Flooring, Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning (HVAC), Paving, Plastering, and Plumbing.
  • Canvassing and Tele-Marketing Team – prepares students for careers in the Communications and Public Service Industry by accessing part-time and full-time jobs, training, job skill development, and apprenticeship opportunities in Campaign Management, Canvassing, Lobbying, Non-profit Management, and Public Service.
  • Hospitality & Food Service Team – prepares students for careers in the Hospitality and Food Service Industry by providing and accessing part-time and full-time jobs, training, job skill development, and apprenticeship opportunities in Restaurant Management, Catering Management, Culinary Arts, Culinary Management, Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Baking and Pastry, Food and Beverage Management, and Food Preparation.
  • Community Partnerships – through established community partnerships with many non-profit organizations such as the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Clubs, MUGS Co-op is able to accessing part-time and full-time jobs, training, job skill development, and apprenticeship opportunities for many of our students. Many of those organizations require a large influx of workers during the summer.
  • Independent Employers – through our internal employment development efforts, MUGS Co-op is able to help access part-time and full-time jobs, training, job skill development, and apprenticeship opportunities with independent, private, for-profit employers in a variety of industries including financial services, retail sales, early childhood education, youth recreation, aquatic safety and instruction, public events, cleaning/maintenance, horticulture, elementary school tutoring, playground supervision, crossing guard, surface preparation for painting, office moving, carpet cleaning and many other areas.
